Oil on Wood, 24x30cm (9.5x12"approx) - 2008
I painted this using a mirror - inspired by studying the amazing small portraits by Hans Holbein the younger at the Art History Museum in Vienna....
It is a sketch... i could have spent yet plenty more sessions refining it. I painted it in 2 sessions. Always such good training for the eyes, for the eye/hand coordination... mixing colors and consistency... to study from life, and try to be as true as possible to it...
