i was stuck in Chicago for 10 days end of May, beginning of June... was trying to fly back to Vienna on standby tickets from my father - right before the world cup started... and there was no chance of finding an empty seat.... had a fabulous time though, spent time getting to know old and new friends, stuck in between worlds it seemed, gliding on floating trains between these monsters made of steel and stone... everything in this piece is reference to a specific experience... it is a part of the series of 'eggs' that i started with by painting 'Vienna, Colorado and Bali'.... Chicago is the surprise egg, and the most detailed.... I found Chicago to be very futuristic, artistic..the architechture is diverse and original, i could totally see myself spending more time there... although i was there in a very pleasent time of year
