these 3 are newer paintings... did them in October in preperation for the Munich exhibition... on 3 different canvas, done quite loose in a few days - i see them kind of like my daughters, archetypes of myself........

Day and Night by ~asage is a triptych portraying both dawn and dusk-like incarnations that offset each other not only in their very distinctive features but in the palettes chosen for them, giving each of them the weight of character. (Suggested by *libelle and Featured by `oedalis)

I like the "night and day" theme. The paintings are beautifully crafted. Nice work. :)

exceptional piece! oil and acrylic.......please refresh my memory if you could......i seem to remember that it is ok to paint oil on top of acrylic....but not acrylic on top of oil......is that correct? or is it the other way?.....or was that old painting teacher of mine totally clueless? I've never tried mixing the two myself. but you obviously know how it can be done. very nice. and good luck with the show in Munich. haven't spoken with you in a while....hope all has been well with you.

well your right- i was also taught that oil over acrylic is ok, the other way around prooves to be a problem cause the oil gets suffocated... i just use acrylic for light underpainting washes sometimes, and then paint over it in oil... thats how these are done...:0 cheers:)

well good to hear that my teacher knew his stuff. that's right.....he did say oil needs to breath so you don't want to suffocate it as you say. I'll give the underpainting with acrylic a try.....good idea. thanks for reminding me. :worship:

A beautiful exploration of the psyche and such a wondrous craft, I also use the technique you speak of above, I find it unsurpassed for adding light to a work. Thank you for sharing your unique gift. :)

this is a very cool series! i like the seperation of the canvas' and the fact that if you were to put them together they would not fit perfectly. wonderful use of color! masterfully done as usual!

These are amazing. The hair that becomes entwined at the middle...and the expressions on the faces of the women (womAn) are so secretive...It is a very beautiful set of paintings.
