Etching in Copper plate (15x20cn) printed today 13 April 2007... on a 280yr old printing machine in this amazing 'working' museum-workshop here in Vienna (still kept in same manner/style as over a hundred years ago) here in Vienna. I have been printing in this studio for at least 7 years now, and it is so nostalgic to think of all the amazing artists that have rolled their plates thru this same ancient machine... lifting the paper on the first print.... - it's an indescribable/addicting joy.
i worked a good 80 hrs+ on this piece... millions of little dots... working in 'negative' and mirrored.... can be quite a challenge, but if one pulls it off, there is so much satisfaction in this method... (well to me that is) this is just a practice print... have yet to decide on the edition number... plan is to continue on with all the zodiac signs... (although don't know if all will be THIS detailed... humm - couldn't control this one tho...).... This is also my sun sign, and the first of the zodiac, so i figured she'd be a good one to start with... my plan was to have the coming 'sign' finished before it started... instead i did it 'during'... maybe i'll get a bit quicker?!... we'll see... don't want to jinx myself - go with the flow is usually the best way....
